BC Pediatric Advisory Council
A working advisory body established to provide informed, collaborative, and constructive input into pediatric assistive technology and equipment programs across British Columbia.
Purpose
The PAC exists to strengthen the pediatric equipment arena by fostering dialogue among leading pediatric dealers and stakeholders, identifying program improvements, and advancing best practices that benefit pediatric clients, caregivers, and funders.
The PAC focuses exclusively on pediatric-related equipment, services, funding, and programs.
Mandate & Objectives
- •Providing structured feedback related to pediatric funding programs such as the AHP.
- •Improving pediatric service delivery, access, and outcomes.
- •Collaborating with manufacturers to improve product quality and innovation.
- •Addressing pediatric industry issues collectively.
Governance
- •Founding Members meet quarterly to set priorities.
- •The Chair rotates among members on a 1-year term.
- •The PAC is not governed by the Societies Act — it sets its own rules.
- •Three annual priorities are established at the first meeting of each year.
- •At least one annual event is held in the BC market.
- •No membership fees. All discussions are confidential.
Membership
Founding Members
NHMHME, Motion, and NSM are the founding members. Each holds one vote on all matters including membership, annual events, and key decisions. Founding membership invitations were established at formation.
Provider Members
InvitedActive pediatric dealers may be invited by the Founding Members. A majority vote is required to add a new member. Provider members may attend events and participate on all committees. Invitations will be sent in February 2026.
Manufacturer Members
AnnualManufacturers may participate on committees only. Founding members vote annually on manufacturer membership. Initial members: Ki Mobility, Sunrise Medical, and Rifton.
